Konya Glazed Terracotta Oil Jar, Vintage Turkish

These jars came from Konya, Turkey, where they stored olive oil, grape molasses, and other cooking liquids for households that needed things to last. The terracotta body and hand-applied glaze were built for utility, but the result is a surface that looks better aged than new.
